It was back to basics for this latest collaboration with photographer Paul Mobley. Recently he approached us with a project from Taxi NY, for their client, New Holland. We've done a lot of work with Paul in the past, so it was easy to get back in the collaborative groove. We worked extensively with Paul to nail down a style and tone for the images, which we carried through the series. Paul captures the essence of his subjects in a way that few other photographers can, so balancing the effects and retouching we apply with the character and integrity of his photos is always a delicate task. Once the images were finished, we tackled the type. Using a brush and a camera, we hand-painted and photographed the headlines, then took it back into Photoshop to apply the finishing touches. It wasn't quite living off the land, like the farmers in these photos, but it still felt good to get our hands dirty.
